How will be the quality of the sounds provided with the new internal card?

I love Sylphyo. I play traversal flute and recorder (flute a bec). I think with Sylphyo I will be able to express my feelings, whitout the limitations of the Clásical instruments: dificults to achieve the more higher notes. Dificults to play pianísimos and fortíssimo. Dificults to play in tune.
Nevertheless, I am afraid of the quality of the sounds that will be provided with the internal card that you are about to include inside the Sylphyo. In Akai EWI 5000 the quality of the sounds is good. But in Aerophon A10 Roland the sounds are really disappointing. So, mi question is: will I have a realistic, credible flute sound in Sylphyo, with the new internal card?

Thanks for your enthusiasm about the Sylphyo! To quickly answer your question: you'll be able to play a good and rich sound that evokes the flute in some aspects, but don't expect a realistic recreation of the acoustic instrument. I'll try to explain why.
It is extremely difficult to realistically re-create the sounds of acoustic wind instruments. It requires a profound understanding of the instruments, as well as very advanced digital signal processing and physics skills, and a ton of experience in the field of synthesis.
Our expertise is mainly in interfaces for musical expression, not in acoustic-sounding simulations. And as your experience with other wind synths shows, it's a job best left to experts, like our friends at SWAM and Samplemodeling, who took more than 10 years to achieve the best "acoustic" sounds available out there, and we encourage you to get their awesome products, and especially the Flutes. It's a blast to play them with the Sylphyo.So the internal synth card we're developing won't have such realistic sounds, because very few people have the expertise to do them right, and if it's not as good as the SWAM sounds then people will be disappointed, like you were with the AE10.
However, there will be many sounds that respond like acoustic instruments and that'll be as lively. They will harness all the expressive potential of the Sylphyo, and we hope you will enjoy playing them, even though they don't sound like acoustic instruments.
We aim for a collection of vibrant and unique sounds that combine the richness and complexities of the acoustic world with the possibilities of the electronic world.
They will sound like nothing else, and they will sound good, not just because they'll use some new fancy synth techniques, but because they'll be tailored to the Sylphyo and its peculiarities.
It is now a widely accepted point of view in the research community that the relationship between the controller and the synthesizer (the mapping) is what makes the instrument what it is, and we intend to carefully design this relationship in all our sounds.
This is where our approach differs from others: we don't just add a synth to a controller, we turn the Sylphyo into many different wind instruments, and you might expect that both the synth and the controller will co-evolve in the future. -

After reading your approach for the planned internal synth, I am sure, you are exactly on the right track.
I was quite disappointed, when I changed from EWI 4000S to EWI 5000, which promised natural sounds. I then bought a Roland XV 2020, which offers already a better quality, but in the end, I only used artificial sounds on the Roland, which sounded excellent and also responded very well.I am looking forward to testing the new, internal sound module!

I'm a trumpet player and also have an EWI Wind instrument. My philosophy towards the sounds of Electronic Wind instruments is that they should provide sounds which are not availalble in "normal" instruments.
I hate when the big Companies market their Wind instruments as a replacement for real instruments: Saxes, trumpets, flutes... no! Market it as a device for playing expressive Electronic sounds in a way that you cannot do with a keyboard.
And then if you want to play the sounds of a real World instrument - buy a sample library from sampling Experts - but still don't expect it to be perfect. If that's what you are after you need to pick up the real instrument (Baryton, alto flute, Valve-trombone...)... at the present technological state of sample modelling of wind instruments. -
After testing the EWI 5000 more carefully, now I have to agree that it is not possible to get a credible sound emulating real instruments. The stand alone instruments don't have enought power. For that it's necessary to use a computer and a good VST instrument. So I agree that the best idea for Sylphyo, as a stand alone instrument, is to develope interesting new
sounds. I would like to have very expresive and precise sounds in order to be able to play jazz and classical music. Why not playing classical scores with new sounds?
And for real instrument, I have bought Sample Modeling Flute: with Sylphyo is incredible! Now I play as I never could dream! -

I guess, I will buy the internal card (e.g. to take the Sylphyo with me when I am travelling). However, in the meantime, I purchased some quite expensive virtual instruments from Samplemodeling and put everything into a vst host. So, I'd appreciate being able to integrate the new sounds also in this system. -
Yes, this is on our roadmap. Probably, hardware version first, then virtual version ...
