Is the version of the editor you are opening the version that came with the last update?
Each update comes with its own version of the editor. Everything is contained in the folder you downloaded for that update.
If you try to use an older version of the editor, this may explain why it doesn't work.

I've been playing out a lot lately and really pushing a lot of moisture through the instrument. I probably swab out 5 times a day. My Sylphyo "A" is still holding up with no ill effects. Sylphyo "B" still does not pair with the Link and may need to be looked at ...
The connection which takes the power from the Host, the computer, also transfers the data, So id you connect from the small usb connector to the Mac, your conection will work, and midi data will be transferred,
I Think Sylbench is only meant to check your setting of the CC in the Sylphio, least how i Use it.
The host connector is intended to connect a USB device, like a keyboard. Never used that.
I play live only, but Iam not aware o cantabile, and i do not use computers life. But I think Sylpio can avoid sending CC 2,
delaying note off sounded good to me. thanking next note on would kill the note begor the auto note off would occur. will check.
I really like the samson graphite 49. I use it currently with a modal synth, but Im curious how it would work with phi, I suspect very well because for the value it has pressure aftertouch, 2 banks of 8 sliders and one for volume, 16 function buttons, and two banks of 8 knobs, along with 4 percussion pads you maybe could route the piezo to [?].
Odd that Ive had my phi some months and havent tried using my graphite for it yet. Reason being id have to re-assign some of my midi cc most likely, and I kind of am 'used' to what I have it set up with.
Korg's nanokey studio however, I do also have, though its a bit small and only has velocity sensitivity and no aftertouch, it has 8 knobs, 8 pads an arpeggiator and an xy pad also. I think what I will try soon is connecting with this one.
I believe Aodyo made a youtube video featuring the phi, and the nanokey studio, although it was not too in depth it did show functionality of the knobs with some of the sound manipulations in the one shown.
Besides the graphite 49 I also have a beatstep pro, that actually could be a fun idea also.
@Peter-Ostry It looks like Imoxplus have already designed an adapter for the Sylphyo, for a later version of the Photon prototype. Version 2 (or maybe 3 or later?).

I just got a new Anyma Phi and tried updating today. I followed the instructions for updating via pc (not mac), but the Anyma Phi did not provide the "UPDATE DONE" message as the instructions indicated it would. Instead, I get the message to connect a USB cable and drop the update in the disk--which I've already done. I didn't get an error message.
Now the Anyma Phi won't even boot up -- I just get a blank screen with a white Patch LED light. I've tried several more times, but with the same result.
Anything you can do to help me get the device working again would be greatly appreciated.
@blipson FWIW, I have a Kenton MIDI USB Host Mk II, which lets me control the Aerophone AE-10 from a MIDI keyboard - not something I've wanted to do, but I tried it a while ago and that worked. I used a Yamaha CBX-K1, which has DIN MIDI Out and no USB.
It appears that these issues I am having are related to moisture infiltrating the electronics portion of the instrument. These are (I believe) due to several issues:
I have been storing the Sylphyo horizontally overnight. Not good. I am on the road and horizontal is easier for me, but I think bad for the Sylphyo. There is a recommendation by Aodyo for vertical storage (not in the general documentation, but mention by Maxence here: https://community.aodyo.com/topic/663/a-gentle-breeze/6)
It is true, Clint, that when we suggest something in development, I do not measure the amount of work that this represents for for example Aodyo.
By cons I measure very well the work that the creation of Anyma Phy or Omega represents. And I deduce that Aodyo now privileges the creation of Synthe rather than the development of Sylphyo.
I reopen the debate but what interests me is that the Sylphyo becomes better rather than buying another synth ...
My assumption is that synths built especially for wind synths will just totally ignore velocity
Well, the synth needs the start of the note and that comes with velocity greater than zero. And it needs the end of the note. However, synths made for windcontrollers should not make sound with velocity 1 while most other synths do. Actually a dedicated wind synth should not sound without the "sound event" it is prepared for (i.e. CC2). But since we seldom know what a synth exactly does internally, we set the velocity as low as possible.
Working with CC2 should be the default setting for a dedicated wind synth, but this can usually be changed to another CC number or Channel Pressure, just to be usable with different input devices and settings.
I am thinking about backing the Anyma Omega on Kickstarter, but I am curious about the Additive Oscillator module.
Can you tell me more about the general design of the Additive Oscillator. Specifically:
How many partials does one oscillator support?
Does it allow ADSR over each partial?
Can each partial be tuned in terms of ratio/frequency/phase?
Can a waveform (sample) be resynthesized by the oscillator?
There are not many synths that have a really robust Additive Synthesis support, and I am trying to learn more about Aodyo's approach to the their take before I commit to supporting the project.
This is definetly not the purpose of the Anyma Omega to become an additive synthesizer. The additive OSC are simple one with one partial with detune and bandwidth setting. Other like Organ Osc can mimic simple additive synthesis as do organs. The purpose of such OSc in the Anyma context is more to have various tone source to feed the resonators.
I don't expect them to put in a mechanical button, even if we would prefer that. But what you describe can be solved with software. For example, tap twice or hold your finger on it longer. They would have to discuss that with the players who are affected. I myself have never accidentally touched the button.
I would like to take the opportunity to take part in this discussion, which is an important subject.

@Paul-Flute, I am sorry that you had to pay for customs to release your package.
We work with DHL for returns and have done so for a long time.
When we send back material after repair, it is specified so that the recipient does not have to pay anything.
Unfortunately, if the customs authorities still decide to charge a fee, and we are not notified, we cannot intervene.
And even less can we decide for them.
We have already had to pay customs ourselves, even though we are the manufacturer.
As far as insurance is concerned, here again it is the carrier who sets the price. We advise you to opt for insurance because unfortunately there have already been cases of lost packages.
For all our shipments of instruments that we have sold or that we are sending back after repair, we take out insurance.
As for the repair time, it is important to know that as long as we do not have the instrument in our hands and in a position to identify a problem, if it is not systematic, it is difficult to decide on the solution to be applied.
Hence the importance of the descriptions made.
Finally, there is always a shortage of electronic components and we are the first victims because this generates delays in production and repair.
However, we do our best to repair and return the product as quickly as possible.

@Paul-Flute Cool! Modifying the Sylphyo is a lot of fun :)
This just points out one of the fantastic benefits of breath synth instruments.
With acoustic flutes the holes have to be in a very specific position, therefore your fingers have to conform to the dictates of physics.
With a breath synth instrument however, you can put the sensors for the finger anywhere you want, in any configuration. You can make the instrument conform to your fingers' best natural positions, making articulating over the instrument much easier. (Copper tape helps in this!)
@Gromit I have compared "Electro Fuse" with the possibilities of Helix Native to set up a guitar-like sound. There are much more alternatives in the Helix-Plugin and the sound is much more "guitarish" than Electro Fuse.
Good idea! And takes up less space than a small keyboard where you would also have to switch octaves. There's still time for a MIDI keyboard later, if composing becomes more important to you.
My Sylphyo does not send anything when switched on. Not a single event. Not via the link, nor directly via USB. The first messages I see are Elevation CCs when I take the instrument out of the vertical power on position.
We made some early tests with both Touché and Touché SE.
Touché requires too much power to be connected on the USB MIDI Host of the Anyma Phi. But as the Touché also has a MIDI out, you can connect it to the MIDI DIN in of the Anyma provided you insert the right adapter cables.
Touché SE works on the the USB MIDI Host though as it requires less power.
You can setup CC message on both the Touché and Touché SE (using Lié software) and the Anyma Phi, just set this up to your needs and start experimenting.
By the way, one can indeed control everything in the synth by using NRPN CC Message but the easiest and most efficient way to keep a consistant behavior between various patch would be to use the main "realtime control messages" handled by the Anyma Phi (these can be modified by the user).
Here is the list with default settings for the Anyma Phi:
Up to 2 CC message can be mixed to control Expression Control A/B/C/D which means you can have an easy 5 parameters setup.
Keep in mind most of the time in the factory patches Expression is used and Control A (which is assigned to Morph), you would have to add some mappings to the patches to map Control B, C and D to any parameter that you would find interesting to control.
Aodyo tells me to send back the Bagheera to change the battery. But I hat to wait about 3 months to get my "normal" sylphyo back. So I hesitate to send my bagheera to Aodyo. I can live without a fully functional battery.
I've always dealt directly with Aodyo in France (from the U.S.), and it has been a good and smooth experience.
The Sylphyo works for most folks directly out of the box, but as you play more and more you'll find that there are a lot of things you can alter to suit your particular style of playing. People come to this instrument from all backgrounds, and the settings you can control on the instrument I believe cover a wide range of playing styles.
@Clint The LUB camp should be disbanded. It seems Aodyo is squarely in the SOR camp (shortage of resources). When obvious problems manifest and improvements needed, the users deserve them, as soon as possible. The continuous striving for excellence is an outstanding quest...... I would like to become a beta (better) tester.... P
