Midi into Sylphyo
-
Hi - I' a new sylphyo user. Anyone using a Midi Foot controller to change sounds on the Sylphyo? I'm using a Soleman pedal to generate midi commands to select different sounds on my VL70M box, and wondered if the same could be achieved for the Syplhyo/Link via Midi in. Are there any system exclusive commands I should use?
Also, liking the new Beta pitch bend facility - but don't want it on all the time - is their a midi control message to switch on off I can feed to the Link? Struggling to find material in the user guide on this - but perhaps that's because I'm a MIDI novice - any advice appreciated. Is their any material I've missed that covers this?

Hello Paul,
This is currently not possible with the Sylphyo, but this is something which would be interested and about which we were thinking about the most easy way to achieve this, and which features would be the most interesting.
Remote controlling the sound change was first on our list.
Activating/deactivating some of the control would also be nice. The main trick for us is to have something flexible enough to allow this to work with the most common MIDI pedal ... and we do not know what are the most common MIDI pedal. This could be a nice idea if our Sylphyo users could tell us here what they use for similar purpose so that we could imagine a solution for the most used MIDI pedal available and check how this could be done.
We will keep you informed as soon as we have something to release though we are mostly focussed on adding some new sounds to the Sylphyo these days ...

Why not simply receive program change commands? That's what they're there for! :-)
Indeed, it would be really nice to be able to receive volume as well...
