first few minutes - GREAT, but a few annoyances
-
these are silly, I suppose, but hell - i thought i'd mention them anyway.
I received no tracking info at all. I even emailed several days ago to ascertain the status of my order, and got no response. My buzzer rang very late - about 9:30 pm (i go to sleep pretty early) - it was DHL. I had no idea what it was, since I had no idea that the package was shipped.
I struggled with the security questions to join this forum -probably about rounds of finding cars and bicycles, which i was obviously failing at. Surely this isn't necessary.
I also don't have much choice about where to place the unit - the power cord is very short, as is the usb cable. I probably have a longer usb cable of this type, but I need to find a reasonably long psu with a longer power cord - i'm not good at this stuff, and will have to research this, since I'm not entirely sure what to look for.
sound is great. synth looks great. have long weekend coming up. Can't wait. Please excuse the annoyance above.

Sorry for the annoyances!
I can just say the security questions on the forum are very necessary, unfortunately, because we're constantly hit pretty hard with spam and bots.
And for the power cable, you can also use a USB A extension cable. -

Great. Thanks. Does it make any difference whether it is usb 2 or usb 3? (most of the ones I see on amazon are usb 3) -
@nelson_baboon USB being backwards-compatible, it won't be a problem.

thanks. i knew that part 'in theory' and actually did this in another situation, but i don't know enough to know if there are any exceptions - like if using it in a psu like this, or whether the slightly different connection would pose a problem in the connection, etc. Thanks. worth a try. -
On the subject of the captcha system, how would a blind person join this forum?
I've spoken to blind musicians before, and I'm aware that blind people use the internet with screen reader software. How would they solve a visual puzzle, like that one?
I agree that the power cable is far too short. I've extended mine using a guitar pedal daisy chain lead, for now, with short pieces of silicone tubing pushed onto the unused power jacks.
Why not use a USB socket for power instead of the 2.1mm jack socket? Those are typically used for 9V or 12V DC, and even 9V centre negative, for guitar pedals. Would the Anyma Phi survive someone plugging in one of those, by mistake?
If it had a USB socket instead, it would be less of a problem because we almost all have a variety of USB leads, of different lengths.
