MacGuffin question
-
I've recently got a Sylphyo and have started exploring the built-in sounds.
I've noticed that the MacGuffin sound seems to change if I pause playing for a couple of seconds - it seems to have three variations that it cycles through. I'm definitely not touching the slider or moving the Sylphyo. It behaves exactly the same whether I'm using the internal sounds or the Link. As far as I can tell, it's only MacGuffin that behaves like this. Is this expected behavior?
Thanks! -
@DominicB Hello and thanks for your message. I don't quite understand what you mean by three variations? Can you perhaps send a sound sample or a video so I could examine the issue? The built-in sounds of the Sylphyo are the same as the Link so that is normal.
Once you send the video I'll if I can replicate the issue on my end to help you solve it.

I'm glad I'm not the only one with the MacGuffin sound changing. Wondered if I was imagining it to start with.
Symptoms are that the timbre varies, sounds like a filter changes
To replicate:
Blow a note.
Don't move a muscle, so as not to alter any of the positional sensors.
Wait a few seconds.
Blow again (at same strength as before)Note that playing continuously, or with short gaps between notes does not seem to make this happen.

@Support_AODYO - here's a link to a short video - first section is playing the MacGuffin sound, the second is Meow (for comparison) - as you should be able to hear, the timbre of the McGuffin sound varies noticeably.

That is identical to what I am experiencing.

That is quite interesting. I will have a look at it and see what it is causing this.

Hey so this change is the normal behaviour of the oscillator used in Macguffin, called sawswarm. Basically there are multiple detuned saw waves and they have random phase shifting with each trigger. I hope this helps! :)

Thanks for the explanation and confirmation that it's the expected behaviour of MacGuffin - interesting that no one has commented on it before.

@DominicB Ya I thought the same! I've played Macguffin myself so many times and thought I would have noticed something by now... Sylphyo is full of surprises :)
