Aodyo Instruments keep developing its physical modeling synthesizer, Anyma Phi, with a firmware update bringing new modules to its collection:

• 2 new physical models: Brass and Free Reed
• 4 additional virtual analog oscillators: CSAW (inspired by the CS80), MORPH (inspired by the Kobol), SAWSQR and SAWCOMB
• 3 additionnal digital oscillators: FM, SawFM (frequency modulation) and ZPDF (phase distorsion, inspired by the CZ series)
• 2 new physical-modeling-oriented effects: Comb filter and Filter bank

Bonjour, aujourd'hui le Sylphyo dispose d'un système de visualisation du niveau de la charge, ainsi que de messages d'alerte lorsque la batterie est presque vide. L'idée d'une extinction lors d'une pause prolongée est intéressante, nous allons la glisser à nos développeurs.

La colonne d'air du Sylphyo étant complètement étanche, le fait de souffler à l'intérieur ne devrait pas pouvoir humidifier les circuits électroniques.
Il semble nécessaire d'effectuer un retour atelier pour faire un diagnostic complet de vos modèles. Pourriez-vous vous rapprocher de Woodbrass pour la procédure SAV ?

Nous essayons de diagnostiquer la cause de ce problème, mais nous n'arrivons pas à le reproduire chez nous, même avec des Sylphyos joués pendant plusieurs heures d'affilée et ce, depuis plusieurs mois.

@David @jmmessager Pourriez-vous répondre à ces quelques questions :

• Quel est le numéro de série de votre modèle ?
• Réduisez-vous l'échappement de la colonne d'air et si oui, de quelle manière ?
• Le bec est-il bien enfoncé dans l'instrument (en butée sur la bague bleue) ?
• Lorsque vous jouez, avez-vous constaté de l'humidité à l'extérieur du bec ?

To summary, you notice latency when using Link MIDI outputs (DIN with the VL70 or USB with a computer) but not with internal sounds of the Sylphyo nor wireless with the Link Line outputs.

What about USB MIDI direct from the Sylphyo?

Does it fix the latency problem?

And did you modify breath parameters (Settings Menu / MIDI Mapping / Breath / More Options) ? Multiple CCs for breath can bring latency.

Les sons (et le synthé) ne sont pas encore paramétrables mais nous réfléchissons à un éditeur qui permettrait de les personnaliser.
Nous sommes de plus en train de travailler à de nouveaux presets qui seront inclus dans les prochaines mises à jour.

You can change one internal sound to another with the quick settings.
Press:
Aodyo key (at the front of the Sylphyo)
+
Middle octave key
Then:
Change the sound with the plus and minus keys.

I will try to answer your questions concerning the Ketron SD2:

1. That's right, connection is MIDI OUT from Sylphyo receiver to MIDI IN on Ketron.
2. You can change sound by selecting a Program Change directely on the Sylphyo (quick settings menu).
3. I don't think that is possible.
4. For now that can not be done with the Sylphyo (you can only choose the first 128 sounds of the first bank) even though the other banks are quite a repetition of the first one.
5. Ketron SD2 works with CC11 for breath. For other CCs, there are not so much possible modulations on the sounds, but you can remap the Sylphyo if you find some you like.

Le synthé sur lequel nous travaillons actuellement est bien un module de son pour le Sylphyo, qui sera interne et externe. De dimensions réduites, il n'aura pas la puissance d'un ordinateur, nécessaire pour faire tourner les moteurs SWAM.

• For now fingerings cannot be customized. We are aiming to include this option in our software.

• Key bend feature is still a beta feature. It is stable enough to realize precise bends. Sensitivity and range are not avaible to set yet, so it seems hard use it as new fingering.

• Overblow can be obtained with most of virtual instruments or synths.

• Active mouthpiece project is still alive, also for now we concentrate on the release of our synth.

We do not have a Roland XV5050, but after some investigation on the user manual, here is the MIDI implementation :

CC75 (elevation movement of the Sylphyo) controls decay time of the sound, that may feel like sticking notes.
One more thing: you may swith your sounds to monophonic rather than polyphonic to avoid stiking notes:

Today we have been testing the Ketron SD2 sound module (less than 300€) and it is quite convincing with the Sylphyo.

Sinon, le Sylphyo étant MIDI il peut piloter la plupart des expandeurs du marché.

I am not a flute player (or just a bad recorder one) but as I meet many musicians who start using the Sylphyo, I could make some answers:

• The horizontal / vertical position switch doesn't seem to be a problem.
• Setting the flute fingering on the Sylphyo allows flute players to use their usual fingering technique.

Aujourd'hui il n'y a pas de housse fournie par Aodyo avec les Sylphyo. Mais la plupart du temps les revendeurs en fournissent une. En effet le Sylphyo se range parfaitement dans les housses de baguettes de batterie.

This could be done with the inertial mode: inclination of the instrument controls breath level and every fingering starts a note.

Workin on it! We still can not promise a release date; for now we concentrate our energy on our synth.
By then, an efficient solution is to use tape to close a part of the exhaust aperture.

3D printing is interesting for prototyping. In standard use the surface finish is often harsh, unconfortable for lips and risky for waterproofness. It could be treated with acetone but it is a complicated technique.
Sylphyo's mouthpiece are easily washable in a dishwasher or with soap and water. And it is too soon to imagine how it would be for the sensitive mouthpiece.

Modifying mouthpiece shape is a good idea. This could be complementary to our work on plugs for variable exhaust.

As you may know, while in the quick settings menu, you can change either the base key, the program change or the MIDI channel, by pressing each one of the octave keys.
You can also select breath CC and volume CC (CC7) with one tap on the slider and change it.
This will not adjust the master volume of your computer, but you can map it to the track volume in your DAW.

La plupart des applications comprennent soit les changements de canaux MIDI soit les commandes de "program change". Cela permet de changer le son directement depuis le Sylphyo, qui peut envoyer ce type de commandes en un geste.
