nice new update!
Can we get the new factory sounds in a format that allows importing WITHOUT overwriting the old sounds?
Also really handy would be the option to import multiple sounds to consecutive (empty) places .

... because Windows doesn't allow a MIDI port to be used by more than one application at a time.
Slight correction: it's not that Windows doesn't allow this, instead the class compliant drivers included in Windows do not have multi-client capability. If you connect anymaphi to a multi-client capable midi interface (iconnectivity Mio10 or Mioxl, or rme), then more than 1 app /program can access the device at the same time.
I do this all the time. -

@andyhornblower
+1 for sysex backup support (ideally with Knobkraft)
btw I managed to import all the TW patches, is there any way I can send those to you? -

@join said in Anyma Phi v1.0 public beta:
I've just uploaded v1.0b256 (links on the top post of this topic), with mainly bug fixes.
- Fixed keyboard shortcuts in the non-Mac editor
- Reduced the maximum size of SysEx messages sent to/from the editor, improving compatibility with some systems (notably, wine, and possibly the iConnectivity Mio10, @markusschloesser you can tell me if it's better now)
Confirmed both issues are fixed, thanks!

RE: Anyma Phi v1.0 public beta
Thanks for the great update!
Especially love the midi clock capability.3 things I noticed:
- ctrl+o (import patch) does not work here (Win10)
- I have the Anyma connected over an iConnectivity Mio10 for multi-client capability and used to be able to use the editor over that connection (the mio has an inbuilt USB Host, which works with class compliant devices). Now midi itself still works fine, and the editor finds the anyma but does not show any patch or basically anything, but it is connected. Disconnect/reconnect does not help.
- can we get a multi import patch functionality? Yesterday I imported 74 single patches, which was rather tedious.

RE: Maxforlive device?
@andyhornblower said in Maxforlive device?:
I was thinking of the way Dave Smith / Sequential do it, which is to have a full set of NRPN parameters, plus a much more limited set of CCs that duplicate some of those, making them useable with just a CC based MIDI controller.
Good idea / approach!
@andyhornblower said in Maxforlive device?:
Alternatively, it might be practical to do a general numbered parameter via sysex or NRPN that's just an index into the patch data, like indexing an array. In which case, it wouldn't take so long to program, but it would still be a fairly large task to document it all, for the user manual.
while I generally agree, Sysex and Ableton is still problematic, as in, you can only do sysex via a maxforlive device. Ableton itself has no knowledge whatsoever about sysex (when it comes to external instruments)

We also have been steadily releasing new software updates and new patches, and are now up to 16 factory patches, with more to come.
- I can only find 2 different versions, 0.8.80 and 0.8.90. Were there more?
- I want to upload @Broken-Gadget 's patches, how do I bulk import them into the editor? Drag and Drop would be great as well!
- Again, could you please show the current version with a version number?
4 I seem to have lost my great patch, although it was definitely shown as saved. What happened here? (Windows)

@join Thinking about it some more, I think it might be better to have CCs for the 32 modulation depths/amounts of each mapping. Though it would be nice to have CCs for each matrix parameter too, ideally, even though there would be some overlap when those are assigned in mappings.
32 controls is a good number for a MIDI controller like the Akai MIDImix or the Mackie C4, or Behringer BCR2000.
Please leave my C4 out of this! I can bank thru pages, so 128 params is no problem for me 😉😂

Please make sure you've updated your Anyma Phi to the latest version (you can find it here). There was a bug on the Windows version of the editor where the dialog boxes didn't appear, but it should be fixed with the last update.
could you please always show the release number on the download page?

RE: Maxforlive device?
@andyhornblower I use a Mackie C4 exactly for the same reason.
I have a midi remote script for the C4 and with that I have 32 knobs with led rings and parameter names and values. Plus I can "bank" thru pages of parameters.
That's why I would love a M4l device.
