Cleaning Swab for Sylphyo
-
The Sylphyo Maintenance accessories pack seems to be currently, out of stock.
I would like to get a swab to clean inside my Sylphyo.
Is the Sylphyo swab made by BG France based upon the A31T4? If not, which version of the A31 BG France swab do Aodyo recommend? -
@gromit
The linked mouthpiece swab won't work. You need more fabric, longer cords, and a weight at one end.I use Oboe swabs and they work well.

So from the BG France Oboe Swabs range maybe the A36B swab would be good for the Sylphyo?

I need at least two swabs. One swab alone does not dry the plastic of the Sylphyo sufficiently. The BG A36B is about the size of the Aodyo swab, which is also a BG product and just a little asymmetric.
You could take two of the A36A (the long one), or one each of the A36A and A36B.

@peter-ostry I use two of these Oboe swabs and they work well: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B001M5CZR8
If I've been playing for longer than a few minutes, I will swab out some of the moisture at the top (breath end) of the bore with my pinky and a paper towel. I feel this gives me a head start on removing moisture and makes the oboe swabs more effective.
I use two swabs at once, and I let the body of the swab sit in the bore for maybe 20 seconds to absorb moisture, not just move it around.
I have tried three swabs at once, but they will not go through the bell port at the bottom.

@gromit I use the piccolo swab from BG -> https://www.bgfranckbichon.com/fr/ecouvillon/81-corps-de-l-instrument-microfibre-a39.html

I bought one of the Hodge Silk Oboe Swabs suggested by Clint, from Amazon USA. So far that has worked fine for me but your suggestion of the piccolo swab from BG is useful too.
