We haven't abandoned anything, but Sylphyo updates have definitely taken a backseat. That said, the synth engine in the Sylphyo is unable to run a physical model as good as SWAM woodwinds (which runs on powerful, battery-hungry computers), that's just a hardware limitation.

@Friedus Thanks, I wish I had more time to train ... I have now Akai USB, 4000s and 5000, but Sylpho is my favorite, although I miss a decent mouthpiece.

R1 is closer to an EWI than to the Sylphyo.
Sylphyo has an unique way to manage air flow that I really appreciate..
And it's why I'm selling my aerophone ae30 (one of the reasons..).

Exactly. Newer voices work well but older have no dynamics, just on with max loudness, and off, near the threshold you can get kind of chirping, intermittent on/off. Still many voices are quite usable.

I use a clarinet pad guard (Rico Pad Guard) to dry off whatever it will reach and I store my sylphyo with the pad guard inside to absorb moisture. Link to US Amazon page for this product is below.

Thank you for your message and I apologise for the time it has taken to reply.
New updates can be applied to Sylphyo v1 (pre built-in sounds) with no problems.
All the firmware will work with both versions of Sylphyo.
However, Sylphyo V1 does not have any sounds, so anything to do with new sounds will obviously not function.

The Sylpyo is a monophonic midi instrument. It can generate one note at the time. Not more.

The midi signal is send to a tone generator, like a synthesizer to generate a tone.
There are several ways to generate more tones from the single note.

1/ plug the midi out in a Synthesizer with more than one oscillator. De tune the oscillators to create more notes at the same time. Note the relation between the tones is fixed.
and / or
2/ connect the midi out from the Sylphyo to synth one, and connect the midi out of synth one to midi in of synth 2 re-tune each synth to create cords.
This can be done with hardware synths and in software
Technically these are relative simple, but primitive methods, but are available NOW.

There are utilities which can create more notes from the single note from Sylphyo.
And soft synths can expand those notes as well.

And sylphyo has a way to play cords in audio. But that does not make it a polyphonic synth.

Hello Wlodzislaw,
I just have been contacted by Matthias from the Aodyo team because I sent him an email to tell him my problem.

He proposed me to update with the précédent version (1.3.3) and it works. For the moment, I can play well, but the two last sounds are missing on the Sylphyo, and to play them on the link with version 1.4 does not work well.

We are not numerous to have that problem, but the Aodyo team works actively to find a solution for this problem.

So I will take my Sylphyo (and my tablet with note sheets and playbacks) with me on hollidays. It is easier to carry than the Ewi 5000. Yesss !

Thank you Wlodislaw, this is a complète method for learning to play the Ewi 4000. It can be used also for thé Ewi 5000 or the Sylphyo. But you must be abble to read notes.
If I had this manual when I owned an Ewi 4000, it would have changed my (musician) Life !

Hello. Thank you for the many links and music (well played!) you shared. Now I have many examples for the Ketrons. I play a Sylphyo and an Ewi Usb, mostly in Studio One with Samplemodelling Sounds. Now maybee I will buy me the SD2. Greetings from Germany. Friedus

The easiest (and IMHO best) way would be to configure your sound module to transpose directly there. The problem of doing it on the Sylphyo is that it's easy to forget you had this when you switch to another sound module, and it's a pain to change everything.

@wlodzislaw With new firmware setting MIDI program change to send bank info works great with Ketron! Initially I have reversed MLB/LSB, so nothing happens but now I can access all banks and voices.
