I came across another issue. I can't make midi OUT to pass on ingoing signals. If I connect further synths via the midi out plug, they are not responding. In the settings, I can't find anything related to this, e.g. such as soft through. Thanks for help.

@deepsea Hello! Is this relating to the Anyma Phi or to the Sylphyo?

        Thanks!

@deepsea Are you trying to send information via the USB host port, via a computer through the USB port or via the DIN in ? One thing to note is that the midi out does not function as a midi thru port.

Thanks for the info. Yes, I'm testing DIN in/out.

              The manual says:
"... or route MIDI from the USB device port
to an external MIDI device (MIDI out)."

So DIN out as well as USB host are not sending internal messages either? Can this be done in an other way, i.e. using Anyma Phi to control external gear?

@deepsea Through a DAW, you can route midi to the Anyma Phi's midi out, but the usb host and midi in ports won't go through into the midi out.

This is something that we could work on in a future software update if there is interest.

I would be interested in that as an option.

@support_aodyo Soft MIDI Thru would be useful.

Since it would be done in software, you could also consider having the option of simple polyphonic chaining - by not passing on notes that are played, and having the option (as a Note Priority setting) of not accepting a new note while one is held down but passing it on to the next synth in the chain, instead.

That would encourage people to own more than one anyma phi, to add more polyphonic voices.

Just one more vote for any convenient implementation of Midi Thru. I'm currently running my Phi on a pedal board in a not-USB-friendly configuration. Given that might be an abnormal setup, but having the option to set a default THRU or USB OUT routing would make my life better.

Same problem here on a kind of pedal board. Not with Anyma Phi but with a Sylphyo Link. No MIDI Thru.

I do not understand why a device with DIN MIDI in and out does not have a thru function. MIDI was invented 40 years ago and is industry standard since 20-30 years or so. Why do modern designers think that USB could replace DIN and don't implement MIDI thru, after myriads of in/out/thru devices over decades?

Same goes for Waldorf, their desktop Blofeld doesn't even have a MIDI out jacket.

Terrible ideas which make our musical live harder and force us to spend a lot of additional money for MIDI splitters and mergers.

@peter-ostry Have you updated to the 1.0 beta yet ? There are midi updates for sure, not sure of the specifics, but there was something in the manual about different settings for midi merge related to thru.

The last public version (v0.8.107) offers a set of MIDI routing options (in the Routing submenu of the MIDI section), including DIN Thru.

When this option is enabled, everything on the DIN MIDI input port will be copied as-is to the DIN MIDI output port, with the lowest latency possible.
However, as this could result in MIDI messages being interleaved if several things merge onto the DIN MIDI output, the v1.0 beta offers an additional Safe merge option that ensures all MIDI messages are output without any possible garbling/interleaving.
