Trying to Update the Anyma Phi. Not able to connect the Anyma Phi to my Macbook Pro laptop, suggestions?
-
I'm stuck literally at step #2 of the instructions
- Power on your Anyma Phi while holding the Shift button. The display should read
ANYMA PHI UPDATER
.
I don't see the display saying 'Anyma Phi Updater". I am running Mac OS Catalina 10.15.7 on a MacBook Pro (Retina, 13-inch, Early 2013). Are we talking the shift button on the MAC or might there be a shift button on the Anyma Phi? I am under the impression that the Anyma Phi ought to show up on the Desktop screen as sort of external drive so I can drop the anymaphi-v0.8.90.ayo file to it. At this point I am a bit frustrated and disappointed. I want to have fun like the rest of you all are having.

Nevermind, I just figured it out. There is a Shift key on the Anyma Phi itself....once I figured that out then I got back on track.

There is a shift button on the Anyma Phi and that's the one you need. It's at the bottom of the vertical strip of 6 buttons, labelled like a shift button on a mac keyboard.
I've been through this a couple of times and it has worked fine.

@bibenu thanks, yeah it took me a little while to figure it out. Now I am unto my next challenge which is how to connect it to Garage Band and my Akai MPK mini. Unfortunately I'm not finding the manual to be all that helpful. It ought be in sequential order but instead it all about the product features. I don't think this went through UAT (User Acceptance Testing). I would love to see some very simple videos that walk you through getting this setup. It really shouldn't be this difficult....then again after you turn 50 things just take longer to figure out.

@milododds We are working on a tutorial video as well! Thanks for your patience and for asking for help on here. Please don't hesitate if you have any more questions.

@support_aodyo Oh that would be super cool. Oh don't worry I'm a patient guy, as you get to my age (50+) you tend to just take things in stride. I'm a Kickstarter Super Backer and I love helping projects like this, Aodyo is a huge success. I also just got your Sylphyo + Link and last night was playing some amazing things, totally beats a keyboard when it comes to just playing with your heart and soul. I know I'm getting close to figuring out the Anyma Phi setup. If/when I do I will reply back with what I did.
