XpressO? Is it worth it?

I’m wondering how many of you have and use the XpressO from DynaSample? And if so, what’s your thoughts?
I exclusively play within a church setting so my need is for emulation rather than the synth/techno sounds. For year I’ve been using the Roland XV2020 which is ok but limiting
Generally speaking the sounds I use most are
Ethnic Flutes
Cello
Strings
Celtic pipes
Pan pipes
Trumpet
Pads
I’ve never found a good clarinet or harmonica sound -
I use XpressO from one year, to play classical.

what i have seen and heard from the Xpresso, it s rather expensive gor what it offers. What i see what you need as sounds, i would advice the Yamaha VL70 m. It has the most natural soundings sounds. For the most natural sounds i advice the Patchman rom. One can check his sounds at his site. I have played a rather convincing violin in a string quartet..
I am more into experimental sounds, so i have replaced the VL70 with an ASM Hydrasynth.

I get your thinking as I was thinking the same but then on the other hand I’m thinking that the Vl70 is similar ages to the Roland XV 😀

Hi Bernard, the XpressO and the Roland as inprinciple the same age: they both use samples. The Vl70 uses mathematical models of the instruments, wwhich means they react the same as the akoustic instrument. Like on the real instrument, when you blow to hard is overblows, generates the same overtones, so sounds more realistic. The learning phase is also a bit more than compared to a sample instrument..
Though rather old, people still come to check wat synth i used for some sounds..
