Question about the mini-USB connector

Hey, I'm a backer on Kickstarter, and I'm really excited about this synth! I'm looking forward to hear what it can do with an EWI, in particular. I was looking at the photos, and on the back the Anyma Phi looks to have a mini-USB connector. Is that correct? Is that set in stone? I'm asking because I think a USB-C connector might be more future-proof. If it's too late, no worries - I'll most likely use the USB-A or MIDI connectors with my controllers. Either way, looks like a cool project - thank you!
