New To Sylphyo

Hello Aodyo community!
I am new to the Sylphyo and to midi. Large learning curve ahead.
I have a couple of questions. Also, new to forums. So, I'll ask all my questions at once and see how it goes. Appreciate the info in the forum so far and have read all posts that I able to read.
I have owned an old Akai EWI1000 for many years. The proprietary cord from controller to synth is going bad and produces alot of noise, so I am in the market for an new controller and someone pointed to the Sylphyo.
I have one now.- When the new sound contest was going, how did people make sounds? I don't think there is an official editor yet or access to the sound engine. Where people using programs like Respiro?
- (More of a beginner midi question.) I want to use some of the sounds on my DSI Evolver. I midi the Evolver and the Link and although I get notes, I have no breath control, it's just on/off. Do I change the Evolver midi CC message?
I'm sure I'll have more, I just got the Sylphyo 2 days ago.

The contest was for people to be able to get early access to our latest sounds, not for them to make their own sounds. As a result, they had to share the video, like our page as well as tag their friends in order to have a chance to win.

For the DSI Evolver, it looks like it accepts breath control. Looking at the manual, this should be set as CC2. However, by default the Sylphyo is set up to send breath as a CC11 (Expression) message. What I would advise is to go to the MIDI Mapping in the Sylphyo menu and set the Breath CC message to CC2. Let me know if this works!

Questions- Can you tell me more about the battery? What is its lifespan? Is it easy to replace or does it require a specialist?
- It’s difficult to engage a fast portamento by having my thumb at the bottom of the slider and still reach the right hand keys as easily because of the different position of my hand in the no portamento and the fast portamento.
Is there a way to flip the controls of the slider, send portamento to the elevation control or control portamento in another way? Or set portamento as a constant speed?
