Planned time-line
-
Hi,
Received my anymaphi last week and am really liking it! 😊
Is there a time line when new stuff is coming? Especially the presets.
Also, where do I find the changelog and known issues of current releases both for the editor as well as the device itself?
How do I get notified about new versions?
Didn't find anything on the early adaptors page nor here.

I'd also be interested to hear time-scales for these features/modules that were mentioned very early on. Even if all you can tell me is 'a year' or 'probably never'.
Meta-exciter - Advanced exciter collection for resonators
WTBL - Wavetable oscillator
WMAP - 2D wavetable oscillator
WLIN - Interpolated wavetable oscillator
WTx4 - Four-voice wavetable oscillator
Comb filter - Filter bank following an harmonic spectrum
Parametric EQ - Parametric equalizer -
You will always find the release notes in their own chapter in the manual.
New versions will pop up on the Early Adopter page, but we'll certainly also announce them here or on a newsletter.A few new patches are close to being released soon, and our sound designer is working hard on the next batch.
For modules and software features, we don't give timelines because we can't guarantee we'll finish them on time (our software development team of one can only do so much at a time). However, if there's vocal request for feature so-and-so, those'll tend to be the kind of features we'll prioritize in our to-do list.
So don't hesitate to suggest features and tell what's important to you! -
@join many thanks for the reply on features. I'd like to see all of the features I picked out (a subset of those listed as not implemented yet).
If I had to put them in priority order I think it would go
Meta-exciter - Advanced exciter collection for resonators
Comb filter - Filter bank following an harmonic spectrumParametric EQ - Parametric equalizer
The wavetable stuff is a nice-to-have for me. To be honest, I have that covered elsewhere.

Thanks @join for your comments about development.
About patch sharing. Is there already a place where users can share the patches they've created? If not, would patchstorage be a suitable place? I imagine that the devs would like to curate a balanced and appealing and "playable" collection of patches that demonstrate what the machine is capable of. And I imagine that the users may want to take the machine into all sorts of different directions. (Personally, I like messy complex recursive modulations and self-playing patches.) So having a growing array of factory patches, as well as a place where users can offer all sorts of patches, would be great (in my opinion anyway).
About feature requests. Is this thread a suitable place for them, or should there be a thread for that specifically? (And could it have a polling feature so the devs could see which requests have the most support?) I didn't see one. So I'll put a request here -
My request would be that the Cloud module could be an effect as well as merely a generator. I don't know what the generator granulates currently, but to me it doesn't seem interesting, or maybe I'm just not tweaking it right. It just sounds like a buzzy sine wave. I am glad it's there, but I think it would be more useful if we could send audio into it.
I also support all of @bibenu requests - yeah, I think a lot of people have wavetable features covered. Making the most of the resonators is where the action is, for me. I'd be interested in exciters like Dust or crackles or chaotic bursts. Thanks!
All that said, thanks for this lovely and fascinating machine, and for your ongoing work, including monitoring and responding on this forum.

Agreed ... I've use patch storage before, but will go with any sharing solution.
could it have a polling feature so the devs could see which requests have the most support?
I nearly suggested a voting feature myself, but I can see that might be overkill right now ... also ... consider what happens when everyone votes for every idea that pops up. Anyway .... it's not me deciding so I won't comment any more.
-
As long as the amount of user requests doesn't exceed what a human can reasonably read or comprehend, it's better that we don't offer any voting feature, because to do the feature right it's important to have an idea of why someone wants it, what's their usage context, etc. The day we're overwhelmed with requests, we'll see :)…
As for patch storage, that'd be a nice idea, but it's a service we're unable to handle for now. However, I've just allowed Anyma Phi banks and patches on the forum, so if you'd like to share patches, just create a post and drop a patch, it should upload fine, just like the patch below. Once there are more than a few patches in the forum, we might create a specific category for them.
Thanks for submitting your experiences, ideas, feature requests, and patches!

@join No polling sounds right, and so does sharing patches on the forum. Thanks!
-
@join thank you! 😊

@join Is there a section specifically for sharing patches in, or do we just put them in any thread?
It would be good to keep them together in one place, if possible.
One of my first thoughts was "why are there only 14 factory patches?". I've since found there are two more (in the downloads section for the factory bank https://downloads.aodyo.com/anymaphi/factory-bank/), or three counting your tutorial one. People will probably want to try out a few more than that, when they get one.

It seems we're meant to use drag and drop, into the edit box, to attach a patch? If I try that, I get an error saying that I don't have the required privileges:
"

You do not have enough privileges for this action.

It would be good to keep them together in one place, if possible.I'm very much in favour of one place to find user-contributed patches. Either
- One thread (perhaps pinned ?) in the Anyma Phi section of the forum, or perhaps even a sub-forum of Anyma Phi General (similar to Early Adopter Lounge) ... either one of those.
- Or get a new section set up on say https://www.presetpatch.com or https://patchstorage.com/
The 'one thread' option assumes that the 'privileges' problem found by @AndyHornBlower is solved of cousre, and that we can upload patched ourselves.
-
@bibenu Agreed. A new sub forum seems like the way to go. A single, long, thread in the General section would keep getting buried, if people didn't add to it for a while.
The name "Anyma Phi General" suggests there could be an "Anyma Phi patches", alongside it, but either way would be good.
I guess I could put a few patches on Google Drive, and link to them, but it would be more user friendly if we could just attach them. They're pretty small files.
Maybe I just don't have the privileges yet, because I only registered yesterday?

I get the same problem ... I've been here a couple of weeks now ...
I'm hoping that Aodyo give us clear pointers to a preferred method (which they've done already) that works (the privileges problem) . I know there are other ways to share, but it could get messy keeping track if we all go our own way.
-
@bibenu Thanks for checking.
Yes, the main problem with linking to files stored elsewhere is that they evaporate, after a while. It used to be common to put pictures on image hosting sites, to link to in forums, which was fine for a while, but then most of them disappeared over night, leaving a lot of broken links.
I see anyma phi patches are exactly 1KB - and I've definitely typed much more than that into this forum, just since yesterday :) So, attaching them shouldn't be a problem at all, once it works.
-
@andyhornblower I've enabled verified users to upload files on the forum. Hopefully this solves the privilege issue! Let me know if it works.

@support_aodyo Testing... one... two...
Atmos Pluck&.anymaphi-patch (tweaked factory sound).
Piezo or Play&.anymaphi-patch (tap the case and/or play a flutey synth lead with MIDI).
-
@support_aodyo (120 seconds or more later, due to the posting speed limitation...) Yep. That seems fine. Thanks very much :)
Now we just need somewhere better to put them all together in one place.

Agreed. What do you think @Support_AODYO ?
